In its most well-known commercial application, airships provide a unique media platform to advertise your message. Supreme name recognition and consumer awareness can be achieved in a memorable way with a Skyship.
The world's largest flying
billboard -- 200 feet long and 67 feet high.
The biggest airship means your name and
logo have the greatest impact -- your message can be seen for over 3 miles.
Nightsign system lights up both sides of
the airship, and can be seen and read from over a mile away.
Eight-thousand two hundred lights program
messages, graphics, animation's, or scrolling messages.
Large, spacious gondola provides ample
room for television broadcast equipment, radio remotes, live segments with
on-air talent, etc. Auxiliary power is available.
Clients/customers/employees and VIP's can
experience the ride of a lifetime in comfort. Deluxe, first class seating can
accommodate up to 12 (Skyship 600).
Restrooms are available in both the 500 HL
and 600 series.
Greatest overall volume of any airship
available today.
Higher cruising speeds and smoother
flights.
Its size, combined with the use of
lightweight, reinforced materials in both the gondola and envelope allow for
greater lifting capacity.
More passengers, military equipment or
television broadcast equipment can be lifted in the Skyships' spacious gondola.
Light-weight, high-tech materials minimize
maintenance requirements.
One of the
Skyship's most important design features is its vectored-thrust capability. By
rotating the ducted propellers through a 200 degree arc, the Skyship can take
off and land vertically, as well as hover for extended periods. The ducted
propellers also reduce noise and offer improved safety for ground crew working
around the ship.
The Skyship 600 is powered with twin Porsche,
turbo-charged 255 hp engines. The Skyship 500 uses 205 hp engines. The
propellers have five variable pitch blades, each with four pitch settings.
The gondola, or
passenger compartment in a Skyship Series Airship is the most spacious and
luxurious in the skies. The gondola in the Skyship 600 is over 38 feet in
length, 8 feet in width and provides over 6 feet of headroom. The Skyship 500's
gondola boasts the same width and headroom with a slightly shorter cabin length.
Seating can be configured for up to thirteen passengers, contingent on the
requirements of the client.

Panoramic windows allow for spectacular views of the
surrounding area; passengers can even open the windows. First-class seating, a
restroom and beverage center further the luxury to provide unparalleled comfort.
Panoramic windows, low noise levels and
minimal vibration provide a stable, enjoyable flight.
Ample room for military equipment
installation and broadcast television camera installation.

The
flight deck of the Skyship is similar to that of a fixed-wing aircraft. A
standard VFR panel sits in front of the pilots, including full-color weather
radar; radio communication with airport control towers, other aircraft and the
airship ground crew; and navigation aids such as GPS, Loran and ADF.
Overhead, the eyebrow panel contains controls and gauges
for managing the ballonets and helium within the envelope, as well as the fuel
and electrical systems.
The mast truck is one of the most
important vehicles in the operation. This 20-ton truck provides a mooring point
for the airship when it is not flying. A mobile mast that can be driven
around, is an
enormous advantage, as the ship can be safely maneuvered on the ground or in and
out of a hangar while still attached to the truck.
At the tip of the blimp's nose is
a steel ball that locks into a cup at the top of the mooring mast. The
blimp is anchored only at this one point, so it is free to rotate 360 degrees
around the truck as the wind changes. This system can secure the blimp in
hurricane-force winds. The "house" on the cab of the mast truck
provides a command center for the crew person on pressure watch, including radio
communication and weather radios.
