Operational Capabilities

The superior operational capabilities of the Skyship make it the ideal candidate to perform these applications. Some advantages include:

HOVER CAPABILITY - Vector thrust, ducted engines provide non-obtrusive hovering capabilities over land and water.

STABLE, SPACIOUS CABIN ENVIRONMENT - Provides ample room for mission equipment and personnel. Equipment can be configured to conform to the needs of the mission. Items such as radar antennas can be mounted outside the gondola, without the aerodynamic constraints of fixed wing.

FUEL EFFICIENCY - Airships are extremely fuel efficient, burning roughly 10 gallons of 100LL Avgas per hour.

HIGH PAYLOAD VOLUME - Light-weight composite materials coupled with a large envelope allow for high payload volume.

ENDURANCE - Depending on payload and weather conditions, the Skyship can typically remain on station for up to 12 hours.

LOW VIBRATION AND NOISE - Allows the use of highly sensitive equipment without the high failure rates associated with fixed wing/helicopters. In addition, the absence of vibration allows for the use of more powerful sensors.

PANORAMIC VIEWING - Expansive windows line both sides of the Skyship gondola, and can be opened to provide clearer viewing or photography.
